Weekend Getaway

The stars aligned, we finally pulled it off - our first weekend getaway sans kids since becoming parents six years ago.

Thank you, Ms. Rie and Ms. Ariella, Aunt MB and Uncle B and cousins, Newark Earthworks, Granville, OH (seriously, think Stars Hollow), and Orchard House Bed and Breakfast for an immensely needed and restful break.

Easter Eggs 2017

The reddish-brown eggs were colored the Armenian way with yellow onion skins - from year to year I am still always taken aback by how beautiful they are - and the dusty blue ones were colored with purple cabbage.  We always start with brown eggs otherwise I am sure we would have achieved a much brighter color with this method.  But I like the subdued blue - they look like something you might actually find in nature.

Style

Emilia's personal style is emerging and I couldn't love it more.  She's got a bin full of accessories, chooses frequently and changes often.

For starters, this morning, she insisted on wearing her purple Austrian dirndle, "No take it off.  Leave on princess."  I obliged.

When we were getting ready to go to the bus, she added her Bulgaria cap aka "Bul-ga-reeee-ya hat."  I chuckled and thought why not.

But in a Coco Chanel inspired moment, she decided to take one thing off before walking out the door... just to replace it with another.

I don't know how this personal style will evolve over time, but I am certain that my youngest daughter will be beautiful no matter what she puts on.
