Our Week In Review

Last week was crazy wonderful for us with lots going on.  Rex was off school and Craig had some days off work, so we got quite a bit of special family time together.

We started the week with some medical appointments for Rex.  At ENT we learned that while Rex's ear tubes have fallen out, the holes they created in his ears are holding steady and allowing fluid to drain properly, so there's no build-up and no infection and, best of all, no replacement surgery needed at this time.  Rex was also fitted for glasses which he did not like at all.  His teachers have agreed to work with him on wearing them in hopes of correcting his strabismus over a period of several years.

Craig's mom and step-dad were in town for their annual camping trip up north, as they call it.  We spent a few days with them in the great outdoors, swimming, playing, riding golf carts, cooking over the fire and eating super delicious, unhealthy food.  Both kids enjoyed themselves. In fact, it may have been one of Rex's happiest times ever.

Back at home, I have been oh so busy getting ready for the reunion of families with Bulgarian adoptees next weekend.  My dining room looks like a windstorm scattered supplies, but I assure you there is a method to the madness.  I am actually in a really well prepared place right now, compared to the same time last year.

After such a full week, we kept it very low key for Fathers Day.  The kids did make a little fingerpainting for their dad which we taped to his mirror before he woke up.  Obviously, my kids have different artistic styles... Rex worked on the top half and Emilia on the bottom.

And now onto another busy week which will bring three therapy and medical appointments, the start of summer day camp for Rex, a baseball outing for Craig with his friends and a hair cut for me (oh yes, we are spoiling ourselves), the arrival of our Swiss summer au pair, and the long-awaited reunion.  Whew, I think I need a nap just from typing that schedule.
