Over the last six weeks, our home schoolers have been learning about some indigenous American cultures, including most recently the Adena and Hopewell, mound builders who lived in what we now call Ohio. Since it's not far, we took a field trip yesterday to visit the Newark Earthworks created by the Hopewell about 2000 years ago.
We had beautiful spring weather which made for a lovely picnic lunch followed by exploring the grounds.
