Leaps and Bounds

Today we had a follow up for both children at the International Adoption Center. The doctors and specialists there were extremely pleased with both kids, health-wise and developmentally.

Emilia now weighs almost 20 pounds. She has gained 1.7 pounds since December 20. She has also grown 1.5 cm though I think those height measurements aren't very accurate and feel that it's probably closer to an inch in height gain for her.

Developmentally Rex has made great strides even since his last evaluation in early December. But I'll give you the six month uptick for a better overview:

Personal Social Development - equivalent to a 6 month old child

Fine Motor ~ Adaptive - equivalent to a 10 month old child

Language - equivalent to a 9 month old child

Gross Motor - equivalent to a 15 month old child

February 8, 2012

Personal Social Development - equivalent to a 15 month old child

Fine Motor ~ Adaptive - equivalent to a 15 month old child

Language - equivalent to a 12 month old child

Gross Motor - equivalent to an 18 month old child

Everyone was just so stunned and proud of Rex's progress. Of course, he is still significantly delayed, but I know how hard this little guy has worked in six months home, even with craziness like surgery and a new sister thrown into the mix. Rex is a rock star, as our Ms. Rie always says.
