My Budding Artist?

When you are parenting a child with developmental disabilities, you sometimes handle certain situations that happen differently than moms of neuro-typical children might do. That's why I was not a bit upset or frustrated when I saw Rex do this yesterday, but instead praised him and encouraged him to go on:
Yes, after weeks of working with him on coloring, these were his first independent, unassisted scribbles with a pen. Who cares that he made them on the tray of his high chair? All that matters is that he made them and I am so proud. A replica painting of Starry Night won't be far behind now, right?
