Pick Up Trip Day 16

Despite the chilly temps and the drizzle, we set out on another private tour to Lake Sevan.  The area is beautiful and I can imagine it as a very popular vacation and tourist spot in the summer months.

We visited the two ninth century churches by the lake which are still in use, so we happened upon Armenian mass in progress.

We also enjoyed a delicious lunch of fish fresh from Sevan, along with many traditional sides: salad, greens, freshly baked bread, cheese, and matsun.

On the way home, we made a brief stop at the statue of Princess Tamar and learned about her legend.

After some quick naps on the bus and a stop at our apartment, we got ready to meet Rex's birth family for dinner.  We went to a place called Americano Children's Cafe which is similar to a Chuck E Cheese, crazy loud and overstimulating, but the kids enjoyed it while the adults did their best to make conversation.
